Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vedetor ("we", "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app in either the Guardian or Monitored Device role.
1. What we collect
- Location data from the monitored device, to display it to the linked guardian.
- Device status — battery level, connectivity, sound settings — from the monitored device.
- Basic contact info you provide during setup (name, phone number) to link a guardian to a device.
- Command history — a log of remote actions sent (e.g. lock, locate) and their results.
2. How we use it
Data is used solely to operate the monitoring relationship you set up: showing the guardian the device's location and status, and delivering commands the guardian sends. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
3. Who can see it
Only the specific guardian linked to a specific monitored device can see that device's data. The monitored device is always shown, on its own screen, that monitoring is active — Vedetor is never installed or operated in a hidden mode.
4. Where it's stored
Data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure) by default. Users who install via Cafe Bazaar may optionally route data through a domestic server infrastructure instead, hosted within Iran.
5. SMS-based fallback
When the monitored device has no internet connection, commands and location updates can be sent via SMS between the two linked phone numbers. Standard carrier SMS rates may apply.
6. Your choices
You can stop monitoring at any time by removing the device from the guardian's device list, or by uninstalling the app from either phone. You may contact us to request deletion of your account data.
7. Children's information
Vedetor is designed to be used transparently between a guardian and a device they are responsible for (such as a child's phone). The guardian, not the child, is the account holder responsible for the account and its data.
